Life in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains. Living, breathing, cooking, ordinary life without clutter in a log cabin. Fresh air and Southern hospitality. What else can you ask for?

Aquarium of the Smokies (Ripley's)
A visit to Gatlinburg is not complete without a visit to Ripley's 45 million dollar Aquarium of the Smokies. The Aquarium has a 1.3 million gallon artifical sea water to showcase sea life from every ocean. Visitors stand on a moving sidewalk while the fish swim above in a acrylic tunnel. Lots of sharks await the aquariums visitors. There are so many things to do here including a discovery center for kids, coral reefs, rainforest and a stingray bay. You can spend a minimum of 3 to 6 hours at the aquarium and they are handicap accessible. Great place to spend the afternoon. There is a parking garage next door or you can take a trolley that will take you straight to the aquarium.

Sounds very interesting. I'd love to see this beautiful part of the country someday. Thanks for giving me a little slice of it!
